Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, and what we do not.

This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are used when you visit our website and our client and staff portal. Last updated 15 October 2026.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. They can keep you signed in, remember settings, or track what you do across sites. The rules on using them are in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.

Our website

The website at myfire.co.uk does not set any cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking, and we do not embed third party content such as maps, videos or sharing buttons. Fonts and images are loaded from our own servers, not from third parties. Because we do not use cookies, there is no cookie banner to accept or decline.

Like all websites, our servers keep a short record of each visit, such as the IP address, date, page requested and browser type, so we can keep the site running and secure. This is not a cookie. We keep these records for up to 30 days. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Our client and staff portal

If you sign in to the portal at portal.myfire.co.uk, it uses a small number of cookies that are strictly necessary for it to work and be secure:

CookieWhat it doesHow long it lasts
myfire.authKeeps you signed in as you move between pages.Up to 8 hours of activity, then you must sign in again.
myfire.csrfProtects the forms you submit from being forged by other websites.Until you close your browser.

The portal may also use short lived cookies for steps in signing in and to carry one off messages from one page to the next. None of these cookies track you or are used for advertising.

The law allows cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for to be used without your consent, which is why the portal does not ask you to accept them. They are still described here so you know what they are.

If this changes

If we later add analytics or any other cookies, we will update this policy first. The law allows certain low risk cookies, such as simple statistics that help us improve the website, without consent as long as we tell you about them and give you an easy, free way to object. Anything for marketing or tracking across sites needs your consent first, and we would ask for it before setting such a cookie.

Other websites

Our pages link to other websites, which may use their own cookies. We do not control them, so please check their cookie policies.

Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the portal's strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in. The ICO explains your choices in its guidance at ico.org.uk.
