A good drill shows what a real fire would.

When a real emergency happens there is no time to second guess. Regular, well run drills mean the building empties quickly and in order, people follow the routes in your fire strategy, and marshals and Responsible Persons do their jobs.

Special consideration is given to people with disabilities or impairments. It is about a safer building for everyone, not ticking a box.

What your team will learn

  • Recognise alarm signals and evacuation routes
  • Respond calmly and systematically
  • The responsibilities of fire marshals and evacuation team leaders
  • Safe equipment shutdown procedures
  • Post-drill debriefs and how to improve evacuation plans
  • How to track and record drills for audits and inspections

Using basic firefighting equipment such as extinguishers is available as an optional add-on.

Drill best practice

Fire safety is never one and done.

Drills work best when they are communicated well, measured against clear objectives and varied to reflect real conditions. Each one should end with a review that feeds back into your plan.

What we cover

  • Pre-drill communication to get leadership and staff on board
  • Clear objectives and metrics
  • Realistic, varied drills, such as blocked exits or lifts out of use
  • Observers and post-drill evaluation
  • Safe, swift evacuation to rally points
  • Continuous improvement from lessons learned
